++ Interlude : Present days ++

It was just like the first time.

The awful sensation to be aggressed by the outside world, and above all, the paradoxical feeling you were losing something invaluable while actually gaining back your hold on this world.

The light was too bright; The sounds, too noisy.
The smell of an hospital. The smell of her own weakness.

Everything she liked.

She was hearing the medic go on about what happened to her and how fortunate it was she finally decided to 'wake up'.
Her mind was somewhere else.

"Either way..." ventured the medic once he noticed his patient didn't seem to listen much to him "Your friend will most likely be glad to talk to you. I was actually about to call to tell him the good n..."
"What friend..." she asked, cutting him in half while struggling against her dizziness.
"Well, one of your colleagues spent a lot of time by your bedside. He's coming several times a week, spending hours here."
"Really..."

A thought was surfacing with effort, bringing a moderate amount of panic into her mind.
"...What is the name?"
"Hmm... I will have to check my files. He gave me his coords so that i could join him if your condition evolved."

She remained silent.

"... Do you wish me to check it?"
"Yes. Please."

As soon as he left, she began to unplug the medical devices monitoring her vital signs and, once this done, slowly prepared herself to get up despite that giddiness.

"What are you doing?" asked a nurse, alerted by the irritating noises made by the medical equipments, now they were busy monitoring the air.
"Obvious enough. I'm leaving."

"No no no. Be reasonable. You're not in shape to leave this early. Get back into that bed!"
She gave the nurse an acrimonious stare.

It was so easy to forget your anger on yourself by hating others.
"I'm not spending any more time here." She muttered while getting on her feet, ignoring the pain "So either you help me, either y..."

"You should listen. I told you you couldn't leave so soon..." said the nurse with exasperation as she was holding back the woman about to fall to the ground.
"Now get back to that bed before we have to force you to! And stay laid down. Don't give us more work we already have..."

She studied her options as the nurse was helping her lying back down while lecturing her about those wounds she opened.

Indeed... It looked doubtful she could leave on her own today.
Tomorrow she would.
