Police is not helping

Space is dangerous. If you want the police to help you, you help them first by paying them to do so.
As trader you does not pay any annual taxes right?
So you got bad service. It is game mechanics flaw but it is there. Pirates should be a way worse as they are actually, this would motivate the traders to use police or escort help.
If you hire professional escorts you wont need police at all.
You can also pay donations to the police factions in all houses and ask them to add you on their emergency channels.
It is RP server, so in such you must put yourself in the role,you do what your character would do, if you see anywhere truck with tank to protect him on the street then it would be ok to protect trade trucks with capital ships, or may be each truck got one police car traveling with him?
If you are willing to receive help without paying in credits or efforts for it well it is not how it works sadly.
You also keep the whole profit of your trade runs for you right?
Why the rest should help you instead minding their own business and do the same as you?
If you manage to find answers for those 2 questions you would solve your problem.
