SUBJECT: Application to RepEx Shipping

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Jason Grey, but my friends call me Kai. I'm not quite sure why, they must've got together one day and decided to come up with the most boneheaded nickname they could think of. Looking back on it, though, I think it turned out alright. I like the name.

I was born in Liberty, in the California system, to be more precise. I was raised on Los Angeles, which wasn't really all that bad; nice weather, good looking girls, and the beaches were pretty good too. When I was 18, my father purchased a ship for me and then taught me how to fly it. It took some getting used to, and a lot of fine tuning, but during his lectures and lessons, I came to find out that I really enjoyed flying.

Still being just as wet behind the ears as I could, I began offering my services independently as a freelance pilot. I've run escort for merchant ships, provided support for the Liberty Police and Navy, and helped track down and eliminate more than just a few would-be pirates. I'm not saying it was glamorous; the pay sucked and the danger rate was high in that little Starflier. Not to mention that the thing was so old that it nearly rattled my brain lose each time I left orbit.

After a couple of years, I was finally able to purchase a few upgrades for the thing; not to mention those minute little trinkets picked up from pirates during my escapades. I don't think that the LSF appreciated seeing a civilian ship equipped with pirated weapons too much, but for some reason, they left me alone.

I have to admit that during all of that, the thing that I was most interested in was escorting the merchants. They always tipped the best, and they were always much friendlier in conversation than the police or the navy, that's for sure. I guess that's what got me interested; getting to know so many of them and hanging around them. There were more than a few that highly suggested Republican Express when they heard that I wanted in on that career too. So, here I am. Filling out that application.

(( OOC: For the record, I love writing and I enjoy role-playing. I thought that a better way of providing a basic RP story was to make it out as a personal application letter to the company. I've been doing both for a little over 12 years, so I have no problem participating in RP. Though, my best work is RP done on message board or through email.. in-game RP is a little difficult with character limits, but I can still keep dialog IC. My primary interest right now is shipping, though if you ask, I'll most likely consent to joining the Security Force as well. As for which transport ship I'd prefer, I'd have to go with either a Large Train or a Mammoth; though I would imagine that if I'm hired, I'd have my choice and I could pick pending approval. For a number, I'd have to go with 227. I hope I've provided enough information, and if there's something I've left out, just let me know and I'll edit the post.)
