Being the owner of an AI cruiser myself ( and my little drone <3 ) i feel i have something to say on this matter. AI can be interpreted in different ways.
1: a fully sentient machine that has its own agenda
2: a machine made by humans to do a certain task with limited self thought ( think u.s.a drones )
3: a fully human controlled machine that carries out mundane tasks allowing the pilot free to concentrate on piloting
4: any other clever RP idea somone may come up with
They used to be played as "humans must die !!! pew pew" so i can see why the change in Id was done.
I can only give you my RP interpretation of the AI that i use. Anna works for IMG but has her own agenda hence she is a freelancer under IMG employ for security purposes.
Anna uses an AI cruiser that has been converted to take her as a pilot onboard the ship, The AI still functions and she can "give" it controll of things like navigation and fire controll.
Being based in Tau23 the ship rarely leaves that system ( when it does its usually to Gammu to get repair parts etc.)
I rp the ship AS anna so i take part in anti cap IMG defence and i roleplay the hell out of the ship ( even sometimes sat on my own talking to java ) ( sad but true sue me im a rper ). So i suppose it depends on the purpose for having the ship in the first place and what your going to be using it for. I wouldnt recomend using the cruiser in house space most cops will just call up caps or bombers and rip you a new one unless you have a damn good reason for being there.
hope this gives some idea of how an AI can be played without being a "I AM TOASTER OF DEATH PHEAR MEE!! "
I have many enemies in the dark. So i stand in the light so i can see them..
