Hm such thing would be unbalanced on ships bigger then bomber.
It would make traders and smugglers OP. You can use it while moving on in line making line piracy not possible. Also if there are a lot of npcs and such with the same ship, the trader is invisible
Also ID scanning wont be possible....
It is not bad idea for light fighters only if you know how to fix the non-scanable ID issue.

Disable ability to dock with it on fixes the first.

As for ID, the abuses possible are limited, as you cannot fire, and people will assume you are up to something if you have it on.

Power core nerf on 'disguise' ships coupled with the cruise drain like properties and the inability to escape by cruise means ID fraud on ships larger than fighters would be suicide once yo turned it off.

If it really is a problem, make a CD disrupt the field.
