"Let's put it this way.. I don't much like the idea of waking up one day, and realizing I'm old" - he paused briefly - "and broke."
For a minute - or maybe two - he stared at Titanium without saying anything.
"I'll be honest. I felt like I was doing the right thing by becoming a cop." Almost all emotion left his face. "Yet I'm putting my life on the line for.." He was wounding himself up, and his expression changed to one of anger. "..for little more than a discount at Sunbucks!"
