Despite interruptions of a fairly grand, albeit short-lived scale, the meeting with The Order and 141 Task Force went well. Sentry set up the communications network through the Hades, which will also house a wing of their ships and link up with a Recon cruiser of theirs. Some assistance against the Outcasts, Nomads and Gallia is welcome, especially against the Vatan which seems to be part of all three.
After bidding our Omicrons' counterparts farewell, we made the journey to Omicron Lost on Belka's orders. Against the recommendations from Golanski, we took the following route:
No notice by or trouble from either the Maltese, Cretians, Core or Order, and very little Nomad presence compared to my expectations. Perhaps the deeper systems are worse for it.
As for our findings, Moros matches up with the database listings as did the location of our old depot. Risking a little more light, I redistributed power from the long-range scanners with Sentry keeping watch. Although the main module has clearly been damaged either by time or alien attack, the storage canisters are still intact. With no further readings able to be taken and not wishing to linger, we made way for the Taus once more.
On the way, we decided to investigate the rumours of this "Lost Battlestar". I'll admit to being surprised at finding something out there, even more so with its striking similarity to the old Crayterian design. With its defence systems set to hostile, we did not linger here for long to prevent any real damage.
What little I received was repaired at what I thought was a Zoner planet. This could hardly be further from the truth - the planet was covered in sentient machines. I had an intense moment of deja vu and a strange feeling that I should be in fear of them, but no hostilities were found and my ship repaired for a reasonable fee.
