This is an announcement from "osenberg.bowex@siriusnav.br.nn" - Received on 24. February 820 AS
Hello hunters, this is Robert Osenberg with an exciting announcement!
The Bowex Bounty Quest is back! See this as round two. After finding it neglected for the bigger half of a year, I took some time to clean up the board, process long forgotten bounty claims, send out all the cash and introduce some changes discussed with the HQ. For your convenience, here's a list of all the updates:
1. All claims are now calculated by a script.
This is aimed to make claims a bit easier both for us and you. It seems as though the poor fella who was in charge of receiving your claims got a little tired of his job and quit! I don't blame him. But don't worry, we have a capable replacement! It also allows some fancy bonus mechanics without driving up our personnel costs.
You are no longer asked to calculate your own earnings. It seems that this has made the claims unnecessarily complicated for some hunters, and the more bonuses apply, the more questions arise about how they are calculated. Simply submit the data you're asked for in the updated template, including all extra bonuses you would like to claim, and the script will do the rest!
Your rewards, BBP and level statistics are saved under one unique name, which is the BBQ ID. If you are submitting a claim and wish to have it added to your statistics, just fill in the BBQ ID for whatever you chose it to be, rather than the exact name of the ship you were using at the time. If you're already registered, you can find your BBQ ID here. If you wish to change your BBQ ID, feel free to request it here.
Since this is a script and not some underpaid trainee typing numbers into a calculator, the results of credits and BBP you receive for your claim should be a bit more reliable. If you still think an error occured somewhere, let me know and I'll find out where it went wrong. If you want to double check for your own claim, this is the formula:
Reward = ( (Basic Bounty * Sum of all Zone and System bonuses) + Extra reward for Individual bounties) * Your BBP Level bonus
BBP = (Basic BBP * Sum of all Zone and System bonuses)
Please make sure you use the updated template for bounty claims!
2. Bounty prices have been adjusted.
You can find the new prices in the original BBQ message. The assist kill reward for some shiptypes has been raised, the basic reward for transports and capital ships has been lowered.
BBP earnings have been doubled and the bounty timer has been extended from 30 to 60 days to compensate for this.
All claims submitted prior to this change have been paid out as they would have been under previous conditions.
3. The registration template has been updated.
There are now separate templates for groups and solo contractors.
Solo contractors may choose their BBQ ID, which will be used to track their progress on rewards and BBP. For players that post a claim as part of a group, the BBQ ID chosen for their first post will be counted.
We do not want to encourage dubious freelancers playing boundless mercenaries on our board. As a result, when applying here as a freelancer, solo contractors will now have to submit a personal history file! If you have a good reason not to fly for the bounty hunters guild or a security division of an existing company, we want to see it. Group applications using the Freelancer ID as their primary ID will be denied.
4. The specific Zone 2 bonus has been changed.
Old: +20% bonus on any ships found disrupting the lane for a piracy attempt.
New: Claims on Pirate ID ships in Zone 2 now bring in a +20% bonus.
This is primarily to process claims more easily based on the submitted data, and additonally because we don't really like these generic pirate buggers. The Mollys and Corsairs are enough of a bother already, I am told.
That is all for the moment. Now go have fun, slay some pirates and make some credits!
Robert Osenberg,
Lead Programmer of Bowex Services
