Reunited

"I thought we lost you.." The man couldn't believe his eyes as he saw his daughter in front of him, alive. After all the trouble the family had, Christina returned. Things couldn't get better. He finally had his girl back. An event they never expected to happen, for it probably was the most wonderful thing that could happen since her disappearance. The father stepped forward and took the girl into his arms, embracing her firmly.

For some reason this moment somewhat touched the young woman like never before, which made her feel all emotional while replying the hug. "I've missed you..." Could be heard as a mumble by the almost crying girl, the father looking at her with a smile. "Hang on, I'll tell your mother and brother. This must be celebrated.." Dad was saying with a cheerful voice, rushing into the house. The curiosity led her into the house as well, unable to wait to see them all. She wiped her eyes from the first encounter, feeling somewhat happy already she had done this step this time. After no longer than a few seconds Dad was back, together with two more people. The woman standing next to him showed almost the same reaction as the father did before, outside. Holding her hand in front of her mouth as she really saw her daughter standing before them, it didn't take her long to take Christina into her arms. Tears of joy were flowing, as nobody of them expected this to happen, ever. Only the boy nearby looked a little confused as he probably couldn't fully recognize who the younger woman was, therefore standing back for the moment being. "I can't believe this is happening..our lost child returning home. It's like...an old dream becoming true..." Mom said softly, Christina just overwhelmed with all this. "..missed you, too.."

As the hug had been released, the young pilot wiped her eyes and looked at the youngest family member, walking a bit into his direction, kneeling down in front of him. "Hey, Mark..do you remember who I am..?" A moment of silence as mother and father were looking at the two trying to converse. "You're my sister? Mom and Dad called you their child..so..you are?" Christina could only nod and hug her little brother, who now had to be around the age of twelve. A clever one for his age, as it seemed, she thought. "I'll quickly prepare something to eat and drink. There is so much to talk about." Mom smiled at Christina as she left her with her brother. "I'll help you, so it's going faster." Dad said after his wife, following her into the kitchen where mother already had something in mind.

What a day already, Christina thought.
