This stance doesn't help anyone. All I said is that you take in newer players - which some of your members told me themselves, so why deny this? - and this gives you a large playerbase, as well as the fact that many of them are active (which is good) which gives you a great deal of time on the player activity tracker.

I'm not trying to put you down, I'm just replying to you making a relatively big deal out of the number of hours on the clock.

Most importantly, I also didn't say all of you are "newbies". I just said you accept many of them. The same can be said of a faction such as the IMG|, who are very open to relatively new players. That's a good thing! However, it also explain those activity hours.

And hell. You're trying to say there aren't many new players.. You're in Liberty a lot, no? Look around. There's plenty of 'em.

In fact, I even avoided using that exact word - Newbie - because of the potentially negative meaning people often 'attach' to it.

What I feel is this: your faction, as I know it from the past, is basically an in-roleplay version of the Angels. You hang around Manhattan for a number of reasons, I'm sure, but one of them is certainly because you can help out newer players passing by. That's cool. It's commendable. Well done.

However, this new lore doesn't quite reflect what you truly do. The image we're being given is one of an incredibly powerful faction, challenging that of house militaries in the past. You're trying to retcon that into the existing lore, even though there is no real place for such a faction in there, according to quite a few people.

One single word comes to mind: powergaming. Something I despise, as I feel a lot of the server currently seems to be limited by players not wanting "their" faction to do anything but gain power, and thus they're never willing to let anything impact their in-roleplay power if they can avoid it. Everyone's pushing their own factions forward, which prevents a lot of roleplay from ever taking place.

What you're doing is creating new lore that just so happens to also make you incredibly powerful.

As I said in the post I wrote earlier, I believe your best bet to become official is to aim lower. Set yourself up as a new faction - which you actually are - which was founded in a range like 818-820 A.S. The United Nations was founded at a certain point. Now, with Gallia pounding down on Bretonia, and Rheinland and Liberty still stuck in a war, a United Nations wouldn't even be that out of place. Why not -now-, instead of 800 years ago?

Less retcon, far less chance of you conflicting with other factions without discussing things before..

Of course, the side-effect is less in-roleplay power. And if that's what you're after, I suppose that's a good reason not to take this approach.
