“Hello Sergeant”, a rather bland-looking young man greeted the recruitment officer cheerfully. “How are you today?” “Oh just sit down and be quiet”, said the sergeant, emanating a carefully groomed aura of disdain. Desk duty had not been kind to his disposition. His face red with embarrassment the young man sat down, and no longer trusting the outcome of this interview started figeting with his feet. “Sit still, son”, the sergeant mumbles. Three hours later, the young man checks his watch, but only concludes that the longest five minutes of his life just came to pass. Finally, the sergeant looks up from his computer. “Well then, what do you want?” “I’d like to enlist with the Bretonian Armed Forces Sir.” Rolling his eyes at yet another idealistic nitwit trying to reach for glory he let out an exasperated sigh at all the paperwork he’ll have to fill out, and grabbed the form.
“Last name…”
“Cox, sir”
“First name…”
“Isaac”
With cold calculation, the sergeant looks up from his desk. “Are you trying to prank me, son?” “No Sir, Isaac Cox, that’s my name. My parents, they weren't...” With a slight pull in the corner of his mouth and a cold look in the eyes, the sergeant cuts him off “Well then, let’s move this along. Age and birthplace?”
“I am 26 years old, and was born on New London. I would really absolutely LOVE to sign up with…”
Abruptly the sergeant interrupts “You know what, I really can’t be bothered. Here’s the form, fill it out yourself if you so insist on wasting your life away in the military.” Thankful for avoiding any further conversation with the sergeant, Isaac scribbles down the answers.
Quote:Education: Degree in Mechanical engineering at the New London School of Engineering Place of residence: New London Family situation: Both parents deceased, one brother, deceased. Motivation: I have always wanted to serve in the BAF, but a personal motive gave me the final push. After our parents had deceased, and I enrolled in college, my brother began working for Bowex. It seemed like a magnificent gig at the time until he was killed in a molly encounter. At that point, I decided it was my duty to Bretonia, and to my brother personally to sign up and endeavor to make Bretonia space a safer place for civilians. Previous experience: I have travelled around Sirius, and during my time studying mechanical engineering I have studied ship design of many Bretonian models.
