As Captain Soren saw the SR Shamrock he slammed his fist into the armrest of his chair.

Captain Soren: Damnit! We're too late! Weapons fire on those Phantoms immediately! Bombers first, leave the fighters for ours. Have Commander Dietrech Launch his fighters. Navigator I want our shields in between the Jensei-Akki and those bombers now!

Commander Dietrech, Major Dessik, and Lieutenant Waechter at the same time: Yes Sir.

Captain Soren: Lieutenant Fleischer how long until that battlegroup from alpha reaches us?

Lieutenant Fleischer We don't know yet Captain.

Captain Soren: Then find out damnit!

Lieutenant Fleischer began a call to the Maul while Captain Soren tried to think of some way to clear the Jensei of the Phantom marines. As he did so he watched the battle outside unfold. His hope leaped when a Phantom bomber caught a missile turret from the Chimeara but it was shortlasted as he saw an AW fighter get blown to pieces by an enemy nova, his wingman severely damaged.

Lieutenant Fleischer: Sir we've reached the Maul. Its up on main screen.

Captain Soren speaking to the Maul Captain you better hurry before there isn't anything left t -static-

The communication was lost as another barrage of torpedos hit their penetrated their shields to leave a couple to blast away at the hull.

Captain soren Lieutenant Fleischer reestablish that connection! Weapons concentrate all of the faster weapons to shoot down those torpedos!

As the captain issued his orders he relised what he must do, and a lump formed in his throat. The lump that came when he knew he must send his soldiers to their deaths.

Captain Soren: Lieutenant Fleischer forget the Maul get me a connection to the Jensei-Akki.

Captain Soren: Jensei-Akki we are sending in troops to deal with the Phantom marines, try to hold them off as long as possible.

Captain Soren: Commander Diszek get your men ready. You'll be landing on the Jensei-Akki to rid them of the Phantom marines.

Diszek's was obviously shocked by this order, but he covered it up quickly.

Commander Diszek: Aye Sir.

Captain Soren: Major Dessik I want you to roll the ship and expose our undamaged shields towards their torpedos. Lieutenant Fleischer instruct the fighters to escort the commandos to the Jensei at any cost.

His fighters were putting up a good fight, one to do the AW's reputation good but there were just too many Phantoms. Sooner or later they were going to lose this fight... But he was going to take as many of them with him as he could.

The ship was rocked as another torpedo hit their exposed hull, and the lights flickered. He listened to the background voices of the bridge crew.

Atmospheric leaking on decks 22-27! That last torpedo penetrated! Guns 9-12 have been destroyed! We have lost one of our missile turrets sir. Deviel squadron has lost 2,3,5,and 8. The squadron is at 2/3 their full strength! We have a count of the Phantom ships sir! There are 9 remaining bombers and 7 fig... wait 6 fighters left. The scanner officer corrected as another of the phantom fighters fell pray to the remaining missile turret of the Chimeara.

Lieutenant Fleischer: Sir. Commander Diszek has reported. They have successfully landed on the Jensei, but are encountering heavy resistance. The Phantoms appear to have control of all the ships docking bays.

Captain Soren: Instruct the Commander only to clear his docking bay and a path to the bridge. We cannot allow the Phantoms to take that ship intact!

As he finished the ship was rocked by a large explosion.

Captain Soren: What was that?!

Ensign Hraiphnei: Scanner shows it was an explosion on the Jensei-Akki. An energy core was hit by the explosion of a torpedo.

Captain Soren: Damages?

Ensign Hraiphnei: We have atmospheric leaking on docks 36-39 and have lost one of our Cerberus turrets.

Captain Soren Damnit.

Ensign Hraiphnei: Ships detected! Sensors identifies them as Gaians. Total count is...

The ensign's face became one of pure terror.

Captain Soren: What?! How many?!

Ensign Hraiphnei: His voice shaky Count is 36 fighters. 3 whole sqaudrons. Sir... I think we have lost.

As soon as Ensign Hraiphnei finished his statement the Gaian sqaudron was suddenly ablaze. As he watched a Rheinland gunboat and a squad of unidenified fighters tore through the Gaian formation.

Lieutenant Fleischer: communications from the Rheinland gunboat. It has an AW transponder code.

[/b]Major Dresner:[/b] Captain Soren this is Major Dresner of the AW gunboat Fuchs. We thought we would drop by, see what all the excitement is about.

Captain Soren was completely astonished by the Major's sarcastic remarks in a situation such as this.

Captain Soren: Glad you could drop by Major we could use the help. Who is it that has come with you?

Major Dresner: We dropped by Chugoku on our way. Meet Chiez squadron from Kyoto itself.

Blood Dragon pilot: After the AW helped us infiltrate a key military facility in Kyushu we could hardly refuse. Plus these Phantom scum give us pirates a bad name.

He managed a sligth grin to his face.

Blood Dragon pilot: Plus we needed some practice. We were getting bored.

As the communication ended Captain Soren sat back in his chair. Finally something was going their way, instead of dancing to the tune of these Phantoms.
