"Greetings Citizens of the People's Republic...t-this is Ilyana Petrovic...coming to you live, outside the gates of the Kremlin complex..."

The camera pans around the area showing massive crowds of people being blocked by heavily armed and armored soldiers, lining the snow-covered sidewalks on the street opposite the tall metal fences which mark the perimeter of the Coalition Kremlin complex. As the camera zoomed in it was clear that the people in the crowd were not some angry mob, but rather a massive gathering of people sobbing in an almost hysterical manner.

As the camera panned back around toward the reporter and she began to speak, even her own expression was a sullen one, and her tone shaky, this news clearly wasn't going to be good.

"We...my dear comrades, we at VNA have just learned that our Great Premier-Commandante, Hero of The Revolution, and Savior of The People's Republic -- Katya Vaschenko, has...announced her resignation as head of state, during a meeting with military leaders and Duma ministers..."

Ilyana stops speaking for a moment, wiping tears from her face and trying to regain her composure before continuing.

"As many of you know, Tovarisch Vaschenko came to power in the wake of the failed Coup D'Etat, launched by the traitorous and counter-revolutionary infiltrator known as Aloysius Rhade. It was Premier-Commandante Vaschenko herself, who led The Coalition Marine Corps in a decisive action to take back this very complex, and save Former Premier Alvin Katz from the clutches of Rhade and his Counter-revolutionary forces.

It seems as though despite the fact that Tovarisch Vaschenko stepped up to lead our Glorious Nation, and to ensure that order was maintained in the wake of the Coup, she sees herself unfit to serve us as Premier, opting instead to step back into her former role as General of The Revolutionary Marine Corps..."

Ilyana paused again, looking down as though deeply distraught, tears in her eyes as she looked back to the camera, an almost angered look on her face as she launched into a quick-tongued mini-tirade.

"Vaschenko is surely a true patriot! A loyal citizen-soldier of The People's Republic! To know that the best way for her to serve us is on the field of battle, and not as a politician! She truly desires to be a Defender Of The Revolution, a Soldier of The People! She is truly a great woman, a great Party Member, to see her own limitations and wish to improve the situation of her own volition!"

Ilyana looked away from the camera again for a moment, coughing and wiping her face as she looked back.

"I...I apologize, comrades...it is just that, like the crowd across the street, the resignation of our Great Savior has truly affected me...and like them, It makes me truly wary when we lose such a great Hero, but have faith! Our Party will not lead us astray, Tovarisch Vaschenko has made sure of that...and as she will retain command over Our Glorious Marine Corps, I know that we will be safe, no matter what!!!"

Ilyana again adjusted her composure, brushing hair from her face and straightening out her outfit as she spoke once more.

"As many of you have assumed by now...Tovarisch Vaschenko's resignation means that our Loyal Vice Premier -- Erik Meier, will likely take over as Premier of The People's Republic. We at Volgograd News Agency are sure that he will serve us well, and that he will likely continue to value Tovarisch Vaschenko's opinion in the coming months...this is truly a momentous occasion none-the-less! Not only does this mark the first peaceful power transfer in our Glorious Republic since the old times, it also marks the end of the reign of our first woman Premier! These are surely interesting times, but again, do not lose faith, and do not doubt that our Glorious Party will continue to lead us wll!"

Ilyana gives a stern salute toward the camera as it begins to fade to black.

"As the story develops, we will continue to bring you updates, this is Ilyana Petrovic, Loyal citizen of The People's Republic, signing off!!"
