To draw a distinction...

Not all the companies listed here are owned by the respective houses. For instance, the Graves family owns the BMM. They are based in Bretonia.

Like Coriko Lameos stated, Cryer, for instance was founded by a man named Max Cryer, and is still currently owned and run by his descendants.
