Never used ProBoards so I can't say, but I do know that MyBB kicks SMF in the seat of the pants. I had an SMF forum and it was constantly being spammed. Got my whole account locked. Of course I was ending that forum anyway so I used FTP (don't know why that wasn't blocked too) and just deleted everything in it.

My MyBB forum has never had spam (knock on wood: Big Grin

). Of course I only allow picture files to be uploaded. Couldn't figure out how to do that with SMF. And I do a hidden capcha in the user registration as well. It seems to work.
