what I'd like to be change, pirate side:
Stop saying the usual 2m or die and if the guy refuse you just blow him up with nothing more said - except if it's blatant that guy is running.

trader side:
for the richer of you guys: giving out money without even saying anything is FUNNY. But not realist. You would try to defend yourself irl if someone came taxing at you, right?
for the poorer... if it's obvious you can't escape... Don't?

technically, a pirate wouldnt want to destroy it's prey. He WANTS to keep him alive so that he can get more money from one same guy.
A trader wouldn't try to run while knowing obviously he will destroy you - or just sit there and wait it destroys you. Nor would he usually hand out his cash without some grumble first.
