Mayday in Tau-31

Dab and his bodyguard launched to find an entire armada arrayed outside the Kirshiro station. 4 battleships, 6 destroyers, about 12 gunships, and dozzens of fighter wings. Most of them had Kusari Navy IFF codes, but two of the Destroyers and 4 gunships read as Kirshiro.
"Stand down Navel Forces! We have come to an agreement." The director's voice cut through in space. "Very well, 'Lord Commander.' Our vessels are ready." The two destroyers and the gunships with them entered formation with Dab.
"This is Captian Kougi and Captian Gungaku. We are here to assist in the recovery of the Science Vessel Jinsei-Akki. Our marines will land on the Jinsei-Akki once we get a clear path for them."

The Phantom Marines finaly made it to the bridge. Thick doors normally protected this section from the rest of the ship, but they were open now. "Virus, this is Sargent Hicks again. This whole ship has been like one of those old horror games, from Earth-That-Was? Zombies, blood, gore, unfeeling machines, cryptic comments from a denranged AI... The works! We're at the bridge now. We're gonna pull the AI and then we're bugging out! Be ready for us, Oh kay?"
"Hmm... I don't think so!" The sing-song voice echoed from the PA system on the ship. A power surge ran through the ship, and the Phantom Marines found themselfs, quite suddenly, in different places. Sargent Hicks was the only one still on the Jinsei-Akki. All the others found themselfs in space. It was a simple matter to turn on the Term-Optic Camo on the suits to become invisible and then identify a ship for pickup.

Sargent Hicks would come to regret not going with the others once this was all over...

Another transmission came from the Jinsei-Akki. "I see your trying to bring freinds along! Well, good luck with that!" A second power surge rippled across the ship. The entire engenering section gave some kind of pulse before disintigating into a bright orange fireball. The pulse was strange, and it did... something. Nobody was quite sure untill they tried to contact another.

10K around the Jinsei-Akki had become a communications Dead Zone. No transmissions could go in, out, or through the field.
