Clark moved cautiously across the plain, staring out into the horizon. What met his eyes was the vague shape of a city, one that he could barely make out from here. He started off in that direction, hoping to meet another recruit along the way, to ease the stress of surviving here.
He stumbled upon a man in the distance, one who looked like a ragged, disgruntled citizen. He got up onto a small plateau and scoped in from the prone position. He fired two shots in rapid succesion, with neither hitting the intended target. The man swiftly turned his head, and scrambled at Clark like an angry bull. Before Clark could get up out if the prone position, the unknown man had already gotten within 10 feet of him.
The man tackled Clark onto the ground, desperately trying to tear his flesh apart. Clark looked at the mans face, a pale, cut, scarred face with bloodshot eyes and ragged brown hair, a face that reminded him of his teacher from middle school.
Clark pulled his pistol, but wasn't fast enough. The man slapped the weapon out of his hand, and it slid down the side of the plateau. Moving to a last resort, Clark pulled his knife, and stabbed the man as he tried to bite his face. The body simply fell limp, landing on Clark's left shoulder, covering it in blood.
Clark got back up, dusting himself off. He decided to look for his pistol, but as he peeked over the side, he saw a herd of Stalkers near the area that his pistol landed. "Damn." he said.
One of the Stalkers noticed him as he said that, and was about to alert the herd when a shot rang out and it fell over dead. Clark stood there, not knowing where that came from, or who did it.
He slid down the side of the small plateau, and continued west towards the presumed location of the city, and it's accompanied airfield.
He ran a little bit until he came upon the remainder of a camp, and sat down. He pulled some food out of his sack, and began to eat it. He noticed the afternoon begin to transition into night, and took off, leaving the food there.
Another 2 hours of running passed, and Clark saw a shadow of a person. He scoped in on the person, making it out to be a recruit of some sort. The recruit, quickly realizing it was spotted, started to take off.
Clark pursued.
