Did Akumabito win?

He was banned. Disliked by most. Rocked the boat and stepped on people's sensitive toes. After being banned, people added him to a Skype chat purely to add insult to injury. As I recall, one of them later became a moderator. A stunning and shining example for all to follow. Beat down the minority who can't defend themselves and be rewarded. Of course, people still talk about him in a negative light where he cannot post to defend himself, but I doubt they would know how to open up the dictionary to cowardice. So let's examine the main points which he raised and raised the ire of the community:

* Factions shooting independents: Let's start with the context of 2008 in server life. Most reading this will not remember these times. It was when official factions would shoot down independent capital ships of the same faction, simply for being independent and not part of the official faction. It was to uphold RP standards and whatever else elitist excuse they needed. A lot of it functioned around cronyism and knowing the right people when buying, so as not to get shot down. The administration had no problem with it. Akumabito challenged the status quo, arguing this was not the way to go. Eventually, as intelligence came to be a valued trait, an Administration edict was posted which prevented this practice. Thus, Akumabito won point one.

* Specific Zones of Influence: Ever wonder where ZoI came up as a term? It was when an incident occurred around Sigma 13 involving Akumabito and another battleship that went there to shoot him down. A player grudge. The battleships had no reason for going there, but it did and no objections were raised. Akumabito argued that in RP, the ship would not be found so far out of it's zone of influence. The argument failed then, but now, every faction adheres to a ZoI. Thus, Akumabito's legacy laid down another pillar.

* Special RP Requests: I stole it was the best excuse ever. It allowed Outcast Kusari Destroyers back when the Hatchet was so OP that it could raze entire factions single-handedly. Add Bretonian battleships to that list too. Because stolen. How did it not get sanctioned for not having a proper ID and ship combination? I struggle to explain this, but it just didn't. Forum RP was written, "veterans" agreed it was good RP and there was no oversight. Akumabito was shot down for suggesting that this was an elitist and system prone to cronyism. Of course, yet again, time would solidify this idea of an oversight needed for special RP as a part of Discovery.

*Op faqt. (This will be filled in later.)

He was banned, but his ideas have penetrated the core of this server. They've outlived the people who taunted him in-game and on the forums to try and break him. And while he probably hasn't thought of this place since then, and those who remember him only remember a "troll", he's won.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.
