“Frickin’ merde...” Achille’s mind cursed as he spammed the communicator, swearing slightly under his breath as feedback spat and hollered within his inner ear ruining any further attempt of espionage on his boss foiled by a single, casual, flick of a switch.

The pain receded and he lost interest, deactivating the infernal transmitter as a marching-band of headaches paraded around his skull cavity, uttering one final insult to d'Autoine’s virility as he did so. Achille grimaced; clamping the wine bottle to his head as the throbbing dispelled. “Dieu I hate that man”. Around him the room was seething with debate; Zoner debating with Zoner over the one subject which appeared universally divisive; the hyperbolic nemesis of all Sirius, the so-called “Gallic threat”. Achille couldn’t suppress a particularly Gallic chortle.

He stood up and scanned the room for Voncloud; seeing what he thought was the man several rows him. Voncloud intrigued Achille. He was an enigma; Gallic first name, unidentifiable latter name and a biology which Achille would have paid anything to have gene sequenced. So how does someone like that run one of Sirius’s wealthiest logistics industries? Achille questioned, brain confounded, he concept beyond him. Eventually curiosity overwhelmed Achille and he dropped the bottle back into its sheath and approached Voncloud; seating himself at a conveniently adjacent table to the fox.

“So your are the esteemed Mr Voncloud I saw on the invitations roster, no?” Achille opened, his English worthy of a minor Bretonian aristocrat. “Pleased to meet you Sir, I’m Achille Augustin Nadeau, head science advisor and general pundit for the Commonwealth, if you’ve heard of us”. He flourished, facade impeccable. “So, how goes the Omicrons in these... interesting times?”

It was at this moment Robert finished his speech, and Achille erupted into applause.
