Doc cut her off, respectfully so to his prized student.
"I know you administrate the center now but...." He gave her a pat on the shoulder of re-assurance, "I'll handle this. He came looking for me in Baffin and you did release him to me. Besides, you're leaving for Hamburg for some family time if I'm not mistaken."
He then turned to Kind, putting himself between White and Kind while being able to keep a watch on a very upset Dr. Naggers, "No, I didn't say you were going to just let him go but he did serve his time and was on parole...." He then gave White a look of disgust, "and unwisely ran."
Doc then folded his arms, "But can you blame him? He wants to change, at least, he says he does and right now I have no reason to doubt it. But it is hard to do when you're in a place where all you have ever known is trouble and no one will let you go somewhere else to change."
"I've seen the dossier you sent," he continued. "Has he done bad things? Yes. Has he killed? Yes. Has he served his time? He has. Was running a good idea? No.
Mr. King, I get the impression that you don't feel he can change at all. Like we all haven't done bad things? I've killed more men then I care to admit but that's a life time ago."
"We're reasonable people here and think we can work out something that's mutually beneficial."
