Idiotic Computer

Yo.

I have:

Intel® Celeron® 2.4 GHz
RAM 1 GB
1 CPU Core
nVidia Geforce4 MX 440 with AGP8x ( 64 MB Graphics )
Microsoft Windows XP Special Pack 3
32-bit Operative System

Problem:

My PC restarts on its own.Specifically, I had broken capacitor within the Motherboard, so my father brought it to the computer technician to fix it.Unfortunately, the computer technician replaced my broken 1000 μF 16 V capacitor with a 2200 μF 13 V Capacitor.

So now, the computer is in even worse condition than it was.Also, while the PC was at the computer technician, I upgraded it with 512 MB of RAM.So, it has 1 GB of RAM now.

I even went to the BIOS and it says that its 50°C within the PC/Motherboard.I have 2 Coolers.Both of them are working ( I checked it ) while in BIOS says that CPU Cooler is working but the System Cooler is not.

I am afraid that this could be a PSU problem.The computer simply freezes after the windows logo and then it restarts.Then again...and again.I am able to go to Safe Mode but I can't play anything because we all know what Safe Mode is for, troubleshooting.

I am currently using my old Pentium III 863 MHz and 384 MB of RAM + an integrated 32 MB Graphics.Not enough to run FL.

Does this require total replacement of the PSU ?

I've tried over 3000 combinations I know how to fix a damn freezing PC but it doesn't work.

What in the world should I do ?

No, you could get the PSU fixed, but it will very likely cost more to repair than it would to just go and purchase a new one.

This is what I suggest you do.

Before you do that, make sure the power cable is plugged in properly, then if that doesn't work and this will sound stupid, change the power cable.

If this doesn't fix the problem, the only thing I can think that it might be is the motherboard.

I would back-up *all* of your important stuff on the computer and take the computer back to the technician and let them solve the problem, after all it only started rebooting AFTER you got it back from them.
