People's main problem with The Judges.

As to the vigilante thing - by your own background lore, yes you're vigilantes. You're a paramilitary organisation that's enforcing its own views of justice without the backing of the houses. Because no, on the server, you don't really have the backing of the houses yet - stories are another matter altogether.

By your ID, no, you're not vigilantes - mercenary would be more appropriate.

Jammi, I am truly sorry you think that. We have NEVER enforced our own views of Justice nor shall we. That is not who we are. The other detractors, are easily explained. Most of the rest of the factions are dying or on life support, with some now dead over the last six months. Right now the Judges have 21 active members and growing. What “mind control” I must wield to achieve that? They are all Vigilantes? How about, I am full adult and I treat people with fairness, decency and compassion? Maybe being treated like an adult human being for a change was refreshing enough to get those numbers? Maybe those tiny groups with 6 or 8 folks cannot stand our success and are determined to destroy it. Is jealousy disallowed here? I was told some folks complained that on Wed night (our training night) the number of Judges present would skew the server statistics, or cause intolerable lag, or sunspots, or hurricanes on Mars. You name it, we have been accused of it.

We are not vigilantes Jammi. If we had a house (or houses) backing to enforce laws we would refuse. It is not our way. Think of our many detractors a moment, we do not RP, we RP wrong, we sit on Newark, we go to Omicron 99, we do not. We did this but not the other thing and on and on. We have 21 full time, gaming members. How is this even possible? When you have answered that sir, then you may be a bit closer to who and what we are.
