Capacitor going poof may indicate another problem. And it may cause further problems. If you can't find the roots, getting another PC is the best choice.

Not joking there. It works well as a temporary replacement for thermal grease.

This is the best way to kill a CPU .


Mate , i've fixed my computer myself soooo many times that i know what i'm talking about : buy a new rig ( see my first post ) . You will fis this one for 2-3 maybe 6 months , but he is dead already .
talk to your family , a new rig (the cheaper one) that can run disco (and many more since i have one and i know what i'm talking) is only 100Euro !! (if you use your old case , DVD and HDD) and not much than 200 if you get all the component new .

You tried fixing it , that you should try for sure , but since still have problems is not worthing keeping it . Get a new one .


PS . i play with 70-100 FPS on this ; intel Core i3 (first generatinon) , 3GHz , integrated GPU , 4 Gb RAM . With FRAPS on i play it with more than 30 FPS .

Now you know the best for you , but i sugest get a new one - the newer intel Core i3 or AMD have integrated graphics like 200% better than mine , so you will have absolutely no problem in running games (except newer ones) .

Also , when i changed my computer , i keeped the older HDD and DVD , so you may consider keeping one of them at least .


PPS - excuse my typing errors , i have a crapy (but big crapy) keyboard , even Capslock ls not working on it ....
