Admiral Golanski has asked me to make this transmission
to you, Colonel LaFlamme.
As it seems you requested all information about Fallen Grace in exchange for
access to Roussillon – with 141 as only exception still banned from Council
controlled space. The issue is, Admiral Golanski only has a summary of the
Fallen Grace event, with all crucial data about it in my hands. Ironic isn’t it?
Most people in my position would perhaps try to bargain a shady deal with you
for this information. You annul the ban in exchange for the total information.
Although both sides would get what they want, it would still leave some bad
blood between our two organizations, don’t you agree with me?
Others again would just suggest denying you any information about it at all
and go on as of now. So far, 141 have respected your decision.
The whole problem I see between you and me is that you, Colonel,
and I have different understanding when it comes to take necessary action.
So let me explain a bit to you 141’s reason to participate in Fallen Grace.
Information reached us, that nomads somehow had been able to infiltrate the
Gallic Royal Navy. Soon after we got into contact with D’Aramis and his rebels,
we more or less learned how far the infiltration had gone. As you can assume,
we prepared ourselves as best as possible, although that does not mean much.
Ever heard about the all saying:
The best plan does not survive the first contact with the enemy?
Anyway, time was running against us while we still tried to keep our preparations
as secret as possible.
In the end, Fallen Grace was only to some part successful and our forces had
to suffer some serious losses. On the other hand we were able to hamper the
nomad influence within Gallia, but you can bet on it, that it still exists in the shadows.
The nomads will keep a low profile for now in Gallia, as they now know that we
know about their plans to some point.
That is all I am willing to hand out as information to you, Herr LaFlamme.
Before I will do so with the rest of it, I’d like to know how the Council would have
contributed to Fallen Grace. Don’t take this question not as an offense, but rather
as a test, because you want information about Fallen Grace which I at this point
of time hesitate to hand out to you by reason of security.
