"Agent King, Mr. White, it seems you two have some details to work out," Doc said as he stood up, "my purpose is finished here for now." He turned to Mr. White, "once you work things out with Agent King I will have you transferred to Med Force."
He turned to Agent King, "you may call me when you have details worked out but for now, I have a cancer patient to see."
Doc took two steps to the door, unbuttoning his smock a bit before turning to White but in such a way that Agent King could see. In a shoulder holster was an energy pistol. In his belt were the handles of two revolvers, "I meant what I said, Mr. White." He closed his smock and left the room, leaving instructions with the guard outside that Mr. White goes nowhere.
In an ICU room
Doc arrived in the room of Margaret Yamamoto and greeted her. He then began reading her file. Already she had an IV in her arm as he had ordered. Reading the file, he took a seat next to her. He managed a soft smile and tried to be re-assuring even if her prognosis wasn't good.
"I'm glad you're here," he told her, "I created this facility for the same reason I did Med Force Enterprises, to give the best possible care available and give hope where little existed."
He took her hand, "I will be honest, your cancer is advanced and it will be a tough fight. I've been searching for a bone marrow match with no luck thus far. For all of our advancements in medicine, marrow can't be replicated and a perfect match is difficult at best. Until then, I have ordered some powerful drugs to at least slow the progress. You will lose your hair and will feel nauseous some times but it buys us time."
He then smiled, "If you wish, my wife can spend time with you. She's of Kusari heritage herself and is a nurse. She would enjoy it."
