So what's up with bases and Roleplay?

Blackwidow: What is Freelancer for you?

For me, it is "gather a bunch of people, load up in T23, fly to New Berlin as a convoy, drop off ore, get supplies for base 1, move to the base, mine, get ore, move to Harris, buy base supplies, end at base 2".

Another example from the bases I administrate: We add indies who like to make money by mining and selling to the base. That way, the mining fields are fuller, offering more interaction for unlawfuls, lawfuls, etc.

People just need to learn to:
a) place their bases well so ...
b) ... that their actual roleplay encompasses their bases
c) build bases that have a real reason to exist, meaning: they serve a purpose and add to the roleplay

What is freelancer if not: fly around (best: where other people also are), meet people, talk a little, shoot pixels ... if well done, all of these activities are done as a team? Bc that's what Disco is for me.
