Winning the war...mhhh...sad to see Rheinland being trambled on by everyone who plays it and those who play against it and Liberty as always being the totally overpowered superpower.
It was never said in vanilla RP, that Rheinland lost everything in the Nomad war. How should they? They won against Kusari, who had their fleet decimated in New Tokyo orbit. Then moving onto Liberty from two sides. But heh...the incosistencies in vanilla RP due to it being half completed and the standard stereotypical outcome assumptions have shaped disco's status of the two houses ... not to mention the decisions people playing the Rheinland leadership made so often...
EDIT: As I said before, I'm sick of the Rheinland "RP" always going off towards the "usual themes of a strong fictional German house/country/entity", same with the "opposite side" as well. Guess the opposite side misses the old days when they actually won a war, without it turning into a major disaster (or did it?).
As for the cap ship battles:
I don't see the trouble. Seriously. I love fighting caps, I love fighting caps with caps, I love fighting caps with bombers. If the enemy brings too many caps for your caps to handle - bring bombers. Teach them what "hell yeah" means. Instead of complaining and whining. Snubs are hard to kill in caps, if you do it right. And cap vs cap ... there's no gank, if Rheinland brings their fleet into Texas. Of course they have to bring many, many ships. Because they can't get reinforcements fast. Unlike the defender. The same goes for the Liberty invading Rheinland as well. And of course the defending side can end up ganking the enemy as well.
Cap battles are hard to balance. Once one BS goes down, it quickly seems like a gank. But as I said: bombers. They do wonders against caps, if your caps are outnumbered and outgunned.
