Honestly, I find it weird.

Would your country allow the military of another country to patrol a major part of your territory and allow a foreign miltary to enforce your law?

To show it more clearly: Mexican Army can patrol the lower 200k of the US along the border and would apply US Law? Would the US allow for that?

No souvereign state would, imo.

There are countries that have their air space policed by neighbors because they can't afford it.
