ID: Jiro Taiyouji To: Kusari Naval Forces Dojo Subject: Transfer to the Primaries
Oi, oi!
This is Second Lieutenant Taiyouji Jiro of the secondary naval forces, from the 35th "Skipping Hares" Squadron. I was told by my squadron leader that he'll put in a good word and let me get transferred to the primaries, but I can't wait no more! You guys get all the action!
Oh wait, yes, here is who I am, supposedly. I wonder what it says there...
Name: Jiro Taiyouji Date of Birth: 19.07.795 Place of Birth: Musashino, New Tokyo Education: Kusari Naval Academy, Fighter Pilot (818) Date of Enlistment: 01.03.818
Jiro Taiyouji, born in Tokyo, is the second son of Genzou and Mikari Taiyouji. His father, Genzou, and his elder brother Gin, also served in the Kusarian Navy. The former is a Flight Engineer, now retired and living in Tokyo and the elder brother, Major Gin Taiyouji, was reported K.I.A. during a recon mission by the Kusari-Bretonian borders in 818.
After graduating from the Naval Academy and his enlistment, Jiro served his rookie year in Battleship Matsumoto, where he was assigned to the 35th "Skipping Hares" Squadron which he's still serving with. He has gained several honors fighting against the Blood Dragons and Golden Chrysanthemums, including the Fledgeling Dragon, and the Vanguard Ace awards, and was promoted to Second Lieutenant early in the year of 820.
A few days after his promotion to Second Lieutenant, Jiro disobeyed direct orders to retreat and got his vessel roughed up by the rebels in Hokkaido, which hospitalized him for two months, and temporarily got him demoted as a repercussion.
Mental health and psyche analyses suggest that Jiro is suspectable to rash decisions, often ignoring the commanding officers who are usually correct when they are advising caution. Statistics show that the vessels he flew ended up 44% more damaged compared to the avarage of his squadron in year 819.
His squad mates sounded their concerns about his poor planning and reckless tendencies many times, but they also always mentioned his cheerful nature and supportive attitude towards his fellow pilots. Naturally, however, it's not advised to give him the responsibility of command.
