I'd be pretty mute as well if I enter a system, greet everyone in it, then within seconds get threatened with war and reckless accusations.

Staying silent instead of taking the opportunity to clear the situation and to prevent further hostility? Staying silent when a threat has been made about your destruction if you stay silent? That is like shouting "Shoot me in the head!". Your logic is amusing.

As I see, the ECG have and have had their opportunities, several opportunities to deny said "reckless accusations". Apparently they seem not to deny, rather accept them, proudly, so to say, and with no little disrespect towards the Elders it seems.
