Actually the older players are bigger lolwuts- see the two blasted by inside bases in the last month for reference. SRPing everything that can shoot a fliea FTW!!.
Written RP does not exist-only lampoon self serving bending of the back-story exist. Only in-game actions count in my book.
The funny thing is that the old lolwuts think that the new guys are lolwuts because they does not follow their line of actions or because the new players are better at many things than the old players. There are so much better things like game mechanics that are controlled by none and are same for everyone.
Good example of that is the cruiser missile- it is there it is in RP, it works the same for all ,unless you are hessians and got 2 missiles in one slot ,but well some are special as you already know.
Some dodge it, some whine , some pull the Lolwut card, some just give blue msg like man.
If you want to make the players to do or not to do something change the game mechanics,sadly game mechanics are not suitable for some people- that kind of people that blame for example the indie RNC in lolwutsism while quite the opposite they suit their role perfectly in good organized and skilled team.
Rules could be totally replaced by game mechanics.
You want to RP before shooting ?
-add small green msg that shows that you load your guns in 15k range, loading takes time- bigger the ship more time to load- like cruise drain. People out of boredom might want to say something at each other. Also add different type of CDs that blocks the engines for longer if there are people that prefer neither to talk or to fight. No more indies are nubs they shot me without RP etc.
You want one to stay out of system for period of time?
-add proper timing - you die you cannot log the ship for 2 hours, if you go with the same IP in the system where the blue msg happened then the server drops you too, period, no more I kill one in NY in order to PvP him 5 min later in Cali. No more indies are nubs they re-engage me etc.
You want to remove the hordes full of caps?
-np just use the DoD death penalty for killed caps combined with massdrivesrs crafting tool to make caps.
Loosing 50-100m each time when you die with cap would reduce the numbers, also rebuilding all exsisting caps in POBs would help. Indeed the caps must be scary then- now they have peepistols as ant-snub weaponry. No more indies are nubs they have hordes of battleships. Also I bet that the same indie RNC group would loose less battleships,people would continue to point fingers at than and they would be able to field much battleships just because they are organised and know their game and the options provided to them by the game mechanics.
You want your transp not to be raped by caps with 2 shots?
-np just add 95% shield resistance to cap guns on transp shields- it takes 2 min to change one text file..
And so on....
The only rules that should stay are 0.0 and the anit-cheating one.
The rest is done by the blue messenger- the only thing that is in RP and exist in the server.
