Restrictions on capital ship use

everyone is saying elitist, as though it is exclusive...


Everybody who comes to discovery starts in a similar space, they know no-one, they have no or little knowledge of the rules, they try and etch themselves a place while they get used to the universe and people in it.

This is not the time to give them the largest ships. they do not know the environment, they obviously need more role play practice. they are not 'bad' people, like everyone, they just want the best and to be the best. EVERYBODY does.

Now... say you come to discovery, you'll find yourself a faction you like, learn the ropes, get some role play experience in, rise in familiarity and ranks among whatever faction you are in. and eventually you will EARN the right to fly a capital ship. wont that feel great to know you worked your way to something without just siting behind a trader for god-knows-how-many hours.

By that stage, you will be very familiar with how discovery works, you will be able to fly it competently and IN role play. and you probely wont use it all the time, because you will know its more logical and useful to fly something smaller.

and when a capital ship comes out, it will mean something... instead of "oh dear look its another Order Id'd huntress crusier with a kishiro tag... yay..."

elitist implies that its restricted to a certain 'class' of people. it isnt, anyone who invests time into this game and this server can become one of the people who shapes this server for the better.

Point to note: I do not fly battleships or crusiers or destroyers etc. except VERY rarely ( i have access to both a BB and DS), I also discourage thier use in the UOG. I also believe if they are restricted, they should be beefed up a bit too, they are too weak for what they are.
