Doc was upset and getting comfortable was something he just couldn't do. He couldn't sit and took only a glass of water after the men shook hands. His hand behind his back, he simply began, "Yes, I do remember seeing you. It is good to see you again."
Doc paused a moment. He slowly paced. "I don't need to explain to you what has been going on with our home world and the mess we're having to clean up," he explained, "I've already written death certificates for far too many people that I've never heard of or even knew existed on our world, all victims to inquisition so it seems. I'm sure you've seen the carnage for yourself."
He stopped in mid-pace and closed his eyes, on obvious move to keep himself composed. He continued, "I came to OSI today to work with you to seek a solution. I came today not so much as TAZ but as a resident of Gran Canaria. While there is no central government here, it seems people look to me still as a voice. I don't feel right about that. I don't speak for OSI or any other group."
He turned, walking back the other way, "I opposed the re-creation of another Council, of making a unified Zoner government but now I wonder, having seen what happened here and thinking of how the Zoners lost planet Erie to Liberty, should we do something at least locally?"
Doc sighed and took a seat. He helplessly looked to Stow, "I'm afraid my mind is so scrambled right now that I can't think all that clearly. I just know that we can't sit idle after this. It's beginning to look as if the Corsairs are making an attempt at conquest. Was the Coalition right?"
He sat, obviously lost and disturbed, taking a sip of water.
