EXACTLY. You know why "retard" is an insult? BECUZ IT'S NEGATIVE!!! There's (almost) nothing positive about the condition of being retarded, hence the negativity, hence the insult. You can't turn a descriptive vibration of air particles into something positive if the very thing it is describing is perceived as negative.
Hence if being gay is a positive thing, then NOBODY should feel bothered by the f-word. If you're gay but feel bothered by the word fhag (no matter the context), then it just shows that you're uncomfortable with your own sexuality.
Same thing with the n-word. there's nothing inherently wrong with the n-word, it was initially a word created like any other word- a descriptive term that associated an ethnic group with their relative skin color. However it was offensive only because people using the word were racist asshoes. Certain black people use the n-word on each other, and the scholars are all freaked out by why the hell would they use a "perjorative term" on themselves- but they don't get that it's NOT a perjorative term if not in a perjorative context, hence why white people can't use the n-word because 99% of the time they use it their inner soul is wearing a pointy white ghost costume.
You can't just go censor/euphemise every term and phrase just because somebody used it in a negative context, It's not the word that needs to be changed or censored cause that doesnt do jack-there's never been an instance where a racist has been "oh the n-word's been banned so I'm gonna correct my racist ways and be a nice all tolerant world citizen"
it's the PEOPLE spaking it that need to be changed. Changing people's perceptions is the only way to remove the negativity, period.
ps. also I'm tired of this "female dog" bullshizzle, either use the word BlTCH or don't, "female dog" just sounds silly.
