What is Role Play?

I see Roleplaying -- well, high quality roleplaying anyway, as a combination of writing (creative/story writing) and acting, if that makes sense.

Basically, when I create a character, it isn't just a shell with a name and face, they have their own personality traits, likes, dislikes, pet peeves etc.

Some of their personalities draw on aspects of my own, which are tossed in and either exaggerated or subdued depending on what type of person that specific character is supposed to be, not according to what faction they're loyal too.

When I play my characters, I try to think like 'they' would, and react how they would, as opposed to how I myself would think or react in any given situation.

I uh...hope that jumble of words makes sense to you lot. xD
