Doreen sat with him, being re-assuring and soothing.
"You need not apologize for your friend not getting here, OK?" she assured him, "So long as she's OK then that's what matters."

"If you want, I can take the donation," she explained, "I do run the facility and it's finances so if you wish, I will take it."
She smiled and looked him in the face, "I can't thank you enough for what you're doing. I do hope your friend fully recovers."
