It's not to do with the firepower, it's to do with the power-supply. On the Kusari Bomber, 1 Supernova drains MOST of your energy, on the Praetorian, it drains FAR less ( as a percentage), so I could shoot it into his hull more frequently way more frequently,

Four Colda Del Cids ripped off his shield when they were low to save power, usually had enough for a Supernova after that, so poof, it careers straight into the Battleships hull,

Do that for a while, he's out of re-gens, bouncing around in the rocks, another Supernova hits him, BOOM. Dead.

We only had one casualty in that fight, the Light Fighter, it stopped paying attention and flew directly into two volleys from the battleship.

The Imp. Debils aren't as good for raw damage as the Colda Del Cids, and energy consumption on a Praetorian doesn't really matter.


As for the two Corsair VHF designs... sorry, I must have missed them.

As for the actual point you were making in those last few sentences, which was hard to dig out from all the *s,

The Corsair capships, I have no experience of what-so-ever outside of a Bomber, hence I can't comment on that at all. The Dreadnought is HUGE, I know that. Can't remember seeing a Corsair Cruiser, 'cept the Huntress, which is awful.

A bad VHF CAN be substituted by a good LF or HF, in fact, a good LF is probably better than a good VHF. Personally, I hope the new Praetorian design doesn't replace the current one... I either want a huge very heavy bomber, a light fighter, or a very agile VHF.
