CommID: Lt. Alexi Karchov
To: SCRA Command
Message Origin: Cape Verde Station Omega 52
The day started with combat exercises with Captain Ares, Lieutenant Sitting Bear, and (now) Lt. Commander Baranov, and myself in 2-on-2 drills, but an Ion storm quickly squelched that.
When instuments were re-initialized, the Lt. Co Baranov was the only one there, so we continued combat drills until the traitorous dog Voronov was spotted on scanners. I was ordered to attack, and did so with extreme prejudice.
Unfortunately, my supply of batteries and nanos were depleted, and was told to disengage and make for Cape Verde. Disgruntled as I was, I knew losing my fighter would be more of a hurt to the Revolution than a hit to my pride, so I docked. I saw Captain Ares return to the battle on long-range scanners, and let out a small cheer for my comrades still in the fight.
While sitting at the lounge, waiting for any word from the Captain or Lt. Co. Baranov, I notice that the fight has moved to Omega 52. System chatter starts up as throws Voronov taunts and lies to the Captain, who tries to show Voronov yet again his error.
Unfortunately, Voronov escaped to Omega 5 again, one day we will get him. I sat back to relax as my comrades were on their way back to Cape Verde, when I received an urgent order from Captain Ares to head back into battle.
I'd just finished outfitting my new Bomber with it's SuperNova the day before, which came in handy, as an Outcast tagged Hessian cruiser shows up in Omega 52, firing on the already battle-weary fighters of Ares and Baranov. Running to the hanger, I leaped into my Taiidan Bomber and launched, making haste to the engagement 5k away.
I entered the fight with week Fury5s as my Bomber isn't fully outfitted yet, but my first SNova shot pulverized the cruiser's shields. My shields went down as the cruiser turned it's guns on me, but Captain Ares and Lt. Co. Baranov's continued fire at the ship kept his attention distracted as I set up for a second run. The second SNova brought the cruiser's hull to near buckling, and while I was pulling away from my run, Captain Ares put the finishing hit on the cruiser, destroying it.
Overall, I would call the day a victory for the Revolution. Voronov sent running and the destruction of a Cruiser, all with no combat losses still.
Congratulations to Lt. Commander Baranov on his promotion. Drinks are on him in celebration.
