"Ma'am, I don't question that you care. In fact, given the lengths you are willing to go, anyone can see that you seem to care more than the rest of the species. Don't you think I can't see that you care."
He rubs his face with his hands, weary from all of the running around and especially recent events.
"I don't think we are actually in the same position. I mean, I am certainly walking a lot blinder than you are in this from what I see. I gotta admit, other than my own powerlessness, I can't see to much ahead of my own feet in this fog."
He takes a look down at his knees, takes a deep breath, and finishes up his thought.
"I guess you could say I am out here right now 'working at making a better change.'"
