I will now author a brief history of my existence. At the age of 17 years, and while attending the New Tokyo Academy of Law, my father's ship went missing while pursuing a group of Golden Chrysanthemum (henceforth referred to as GC) Gunboats from the Okinawa System. I immediately left the Academy and joined a small band of Merchant Marines who frequented the area in hopes of discovering my father's fate. After 6 years with no progress I was made Captain of a civilian escort Gunship within the Merchant Marine company I was contracted to.
However, the company was soon overtaken by members of the Golden Chrysanthemums and folded into their secret economic ranks. 4 years later, while performing a routine repair operation of one of GC's many transport craft in the Nagano System, we acquired a faint distress signal emanating from the area located between two of the systems three suns in a previously uncharted platinum field. After gaining proper clearance from my superior, I investigated. In the field, which was in dangerously close proximity to the 2 suns' coronas, was the remnants of a battle. It became apparent that the Battleship Shizukesa, after which I had been named, had discovered a GC Station hidden in the field and protected by the nearby suns. The Battleship Shizukesa was found to have no survivors aboard, and all escape pods had been launched. After a thorough investigation of the Captain's log it was learned that the Shizukesa had honorably destroyed the GC Station, along with much of it's flight crews, but had suffered catastrophic damage to it's shields and thrusters in the process. The ship was abandoned, save the Captain, and was never discovered. No survivors were ever found.
GC salvaged the Shizukesa, had it towed to one of their outworld stations where it was repaired and placed back into use under the flag of GC. I was made Captain of the Shizukesa by my Superior Officer, Adm. Ryuken. However, having found my honorable father's ship, with myself at it's helm, under the rule of the GC, I determined to leave them and hide the ship in a safe location, with hopes of one day returning it back to Honorable use within the Kusari Navy that my father loved so much, perhaps one day with yet another Norio at the helm. It has taken me nearly a year to get my fathers ship back from the GC and to escape from their bounty hunters.
I am now applying for admittance to the Kusari Naval Forces with aims toward regaining my families honor by serving our Emperor and the memory of my father. I request and indeed expect no special treatment as a result of my family name or rank, and am quite ready to start at the bottom. However, I hope one day soon to be able to Captain my father's honorable ship under the very honorable flag of the Kusari Naval Forces.
