I won't say too much about the ID in case you take it as the official word, but I believe all the custom IDs were given after quite some time - you can likely get by pretty well with the Pirate ID on VR- ships and Freelancer (and Miner) on NO ships and maybe some SRPs.

Honestly, while I really want the full ID (primarily for pirate trains and altered technerfs), my primary concern could be resolved by copying Pirate ID and changing the text and certain rephacks, that way we're not getting shot by LN and BAF people that have no in-RP reason to be shooting at us - think about the Privateers in the old days having Pirate ID, that'd be a hell of a lot harder now.

Plus, you know, bounty hunters. I expect Rheinland to want us dead, and to pay for it, but Bretonia and (soon) Liberty shouldn't be paying for our death - but we're Pirate IDed, so they are.

Honestly, were it not for the rephacks, we'd probably just re-SRP our cruisers and the Metropolis for now. But the hacks are proving to be somewhat problematic.
