He raises his brows as he's questioned."...Yes." That turns out to be his witty response, but he continues, grinning slightly."I worked for Ageira, eight or nine years. Not an incredibly long career, but most teenagers aren't building cannons in their basement either. They laughed at me until that pile of scrap blew up my shed while I was presenting it. Worked in weapon research and development during that time." He finishes off his drink, setting the empty glass aside. "Of course there's the story about how my superior took my work and claimed it was him, got the promotion, blah, blah.."He shakes his head, letting out a sigh.
"So I stole about two decades of research from my group, wiped the systems, and took a trip just outside of Liberty. The Lane Hackers were a lot friendlier than I expected, and Mactan is a nice place. Managed to keep away from the Cardamine."Saronsen shifts on his seat, straightening his posture."So that went on for about two years, I pissed off Liberty by being hard to catch, stole a bunch of money from Interspace and Ageira, and camped a lane for a while, collecting the tax from every ship that passed by instead of the corporations."
He clears his throat quietly."For reasons I'm not disclosing, I made peace with Liberty, and.. acquired a Jinkusu. Oh yeah, did I mention I was also technically a Zoner for a while?"He chuckles."That didn't go so well for one reason and another, so I ended up getting rid of that thing and, well, just sort of hoarded my credits, made random investments in the market, and it piled up for me."
He holds his hands up slightly, before dropping them back on his lap."Now here I am, not even thirty years old yet, and I've got nothing but time. Oh. I sort of just ranted on, didn't I?"He looks around idly, before peering back at her with a shrug.
