You see, your family name is not unfamiliar with us. But I'll get to that in a moment. Looking here, I see that either your birthdate has been falsified, or your birth location has been changed on your application. New Hope East was not founded in 799, as our arrival in the Sirius sector was in 801 AS. Very interesting, as to why you would lie on a application to join our ranks.
But, to the main point, I have had the C.I.S. provide me some reports, as your father's name did sound familiar as I said. You see, Mr. Petrov was being investigated by C.I.S. agents for past crimes in dealing with the Gauls. I also see evidence of Outcast dealings. Interesting, wouldn't you say? The records I have in front of me indicate that he attempted to disclose classified, military eyes-only information. Luckily that information was not revealed, and is safe. Beyond that, I am not at liberty to share.
You see, due to previous actions by your father, and the false information regarding your birth, I am inclined to deny your request to join the Colonial military, or any other official branch with the Republic. May others have more mercy on you, but we will not allow a tarnished name within our ranks.
