I'll confirm it. Check the empathy value for IMG/Xenos in FLStat, there is in fact a small connection.
I don't think the Junkers should have a battlecruiser, personally. In fact, I think several factions with caps should not have them. It's just not appropriate for a faction that relies so heavily on being beneath notice.
