The Order history

The following text is composed of de-classified information, available to anyone with any basic access to Order database. Clearance level for following document is Alpha.

The Order is a fully independent organization that submits to no authority other than its own chain of command. The Order was created to counter any threat to humanity's survival as a species, be it from alien life forms or from threats created by mankind itself. Unlike each house’s respective navy and intelligence agencies, The Order answers to no one house or any form of government – their defense of humanity goes beyond borders and politics. The Order seeks no need for glory or fanfare, fighting regardless of how others see them, if they are seen at all. The agents seek no recognition - in fact they know they might be lost in pages of history forever or remembered as traitors as they are forced to take human life to save us all.

With the emergence of the Nomads, later revealed to be the Slomon K'Hara, the Order came to the forefront of Sirius events in 800 A.S. when the infection started spreading to Liberty, the Order’s once native house. As battles raged across Sirius, the Order proved to be instrumental in ending the first Nomad War, and preserving the human race in the process. The Houses, despite their vast resources, failed to develope the nessisary tools to protect themselves from the Nomad infection. Through Order intervention and interior powerstruggles within each House, the Nomads were slowly ousted from the colonies. However the threat still lingered and the Order stood as the vanguard to humanity on the edge of Nomad space and in secret surveillance positions throughout the colonies.

Initially, the Houses often claimed that The Order were simple "terrorists", anarchists or an anti-peace organization aiming to destabilize balance of Sirius politics. This originated from the numerous political assassinations of infected members of House militaries and governments during the times leading up to and throughout the Nomad War. Eventually some honest recognition was given to The Order by Liberty Republic itself. Under leadership of President Barbara Jacobi, The Order was pardoned after the Nomad War for their significant contribution to saving not only herself and her House, but all of Sirius.

The Order has always stayed to the shadows, but with the fall of Toledo - one of Order's main staging grounds, many additional security measures were put in place to ensure the safety of the once secure space in the Omicrons that The Order had called home for more than twenty years. What little information The Order allows out is normally through private channels and diplomatic discussions. Currently The Order is in a heated struggle with the Core, a powerhungry PMC which has dedicated itself to removing The Order completely and securing the advanced technology and Nomad research material The Order has acquired over the past decades. The Core is currently spending millions upon millions of credits and thousands of slave labor of prisoners and underpaid pilots to secure technology and information that would only prove to be a danger to themselves and the rest of the colonies. The Order is their primary target and the only line of defense against the Core and its warmongering. Finally Order is opposing the Outcasts, a group of druglords and pirates from the Hispania who have been sheltering several Nomad cults and distributing Cardamine to the colonies without hesitation, a drug closely linked to the hostile aliens.

Information on “Order of Cincunatuss” are classified to those without clearance level Psi or higher.

The Order originally was a hidden, top secret insitution formed by Great Planners. In co-operation of first Liberty president Susan Jimenez and highest ranked echelons of Liberty Army, new organisation was formed to defend republic. They have decided that public may never get to know that we are not alone in the universe.

Seing democracy as threat to continuity of Liberty, Order of Cincinnatus primary objective was to act in capacity of absolute dictatorship, hidden from public eye. They were meant to exercise their power in events of state-ending catastrophies, in which founding members have agreed that Republic will be incapable to deal with.

In modern times, The Order is a splinter faction after one of Cincinnatus members - Casper Orillion - discovered Nomad infestation started to take over their ranks. As aliens assumed control of the very institution meant to counter act apocalyptic threats such as this, Orillion decided to defect. The Order of today was in effect born.

As Nomad war came to an end, president Barbara Jacobi permitted The Order to move in and cleanse entire Cincinnatus as they pleased. Under cover provided by Liberty officials, entire organisation has been destroyed with most of their members killed. It is likely that few of them survived the witch hunt and continue to operate within the colonies.

While institution itself is gone and potential remnants of Cincinnatus are just shadow of the former self, it is believed that Liberty-Rheinland war was triggered through influence of the survivors. Any attempt to investigate are near impossible due presidency of anti-Order James Powell. The Order has contingency for assasinating Liberty president but has not commenced any action as not all potential outcomes have been fully explored.

Nomad War

Timeline:

Nomad War is the conflict that gave The Order a purpose to this day. The founders realized existance and magnitude of threat aliens posed and started forming The Order to combat them. Start of Nomad War is subject of dicussion among historians - allthrough destruction of Freeport 7 is taken by The Order as official beggining of the armed conflict.

War has ended abrubtly, as fast as it has begun. The Order continues to highly classify exact reasons behind end of an extra-ordinary brief for its scale intersteral conflict. Conflict has spread over all colonies with only Bretonia being remarkably intact - but not affected - by events of the war. Rheinland and Kusari were totally devastated, causing massive ammounts of funds being put into rebuilding their respective fleets. The respective rebel factions has taken note of weakened economies, taking more ground than ever.

The Order is credited for assasinating several important figures the group recognized infested. It has eventually culminated in rescue of Liberty president Barbara Jacobi who earned a pardon for The Order immediately after the war. Famous and influential individuals killed were people like Rheinland Chancelor Niemann and governor Tekagi.

Echoes of the war continue to haunt Sirius to this day, forming future of Sirius for perhaps even to centuries to come. While it is all speculations at this point, it would be very likely that Bretonian-Kusari and Liberty-Rheinland wars would never happen should delicate balance of Sirius was not broken by Nomad influence.

Black Squadron initially was a indeed a squadron under command of Johnathan Pryde in Nomad War era. Meant to be hit-squadron on orders of Casper Orillion, group rose in ranks and numbers. By time of Orillion going M.I.A. during a mission in what is now known as Nomad space in 802 A.S., Black Squadron was influential enough to seize power in a vacuum left after sudden dissapearance of Order's first leader.

By gaining command of several warships in early years of alliance with the Corsairs, Black Squadron effectively ceased to be factual squadron - instead being full fledged fleet with its own admirality board. Regardless of sudden elevation into power, Squadron kept to its name for mostly historical reasons. It was easy time for The Order - growing in strenght with re-establishment of Toledo as a military-ruled colony of one million souls at its peak.

Errors of their ways proved to be nearly fatal to The Order in later years after restructurization into Primary Fleet of The Order. Black Squadron was too occupied with developing Toledo and politics in the colonies to effectively counter awakening Nomad threat. This negligence allowed Nomads to grow out of proportions, with The Order no longer capable to crush any and every sign of Nomad activity like in immediate years after Nomad War.

With all of The Order infrastructure located on Toledo, single and sufficiently powerful assault would eradicate major share of our firepower projection - proved by destruction of Toledo betweeen 818 and 819 A.S., delivered by Core Guild and Nomads.

Grand Admiral Sius Malacos

Information on “Malacos” are classified to those without clearance level Omicron or higher.

Sius Malacos was sixth Order leader in line. He was among the people that reformed original Black Squadron admirality board into Order High Command, Malacos turned out to be controvensial figure in Order history nevertheless.

Believing Nomad threat is no more, Malacos and The Order under his command grew complacent and decadent, over time twisting purpose of The Order under assumption that all threats of his time were put under absolute control. Dropping their guard, Malacos pursued questionable diplomatic avenues and dubious strategical decisions. Crime, corruption and piracy ran rampart among the ranks, all being permitted by the freshly organised High Command. It would have been the end or worse - transforming into group more kin to Core of today - if it was not put to the end.

Malacos underestimated the Nomads. Ironically it was greatest extra-terrestial threat to existance of our species to push for change which proved to be final, yet sufficient wake up call for The Order. Malacos willfuly entered a pact with Nomads and in the end becoming the one we fight against. Infested Sius was one of the most grim episodes of The Order but we have prevailed as Malacos fell dead on hands of Order Inquisition. Since then records of traitor admiral have been removed - yet notion of his existance and this warning were preserved for future generations.

As last leader of Black Squadron - Admiral McKinley resigned, group of high ranked officers begun reforms to what would create an Order High Command. Newly created Order Primary Fleet has been organised into three Great Divisions: Combat fleet, Wedjat Intelligence and Order Science Division. In simmilar form, Primary continues to this day.

Greatest challenge appeared with sudden collapse of chain of command - created by new leaderships taking over in quick succession after the another. None of them was capable to create a long term strategy for The Order as a whole or resigned before being able to introduce their plan into life. High Command lost in total two Grand Admirals, making things no better for future of organisation.

It is time when Corsair-Order alliance was starting to crumble due to ideological differences and different strategic priorities set by Command. In year 818 A.S., Corsair aggregators - lead by Elder Shepardi - turned relations between the two groups to state of near war. The Brotherhood - Shepardi's faction became increasingly unpopular within the ranks and Black Sails went into outright armed conflict.

Another conflict appeared, instantly shifting SCRA's allied status into war as traitorous premier Alvin Katz backstabbed The Order forces. A truce has been arranged but relations remained tense and cold war-like. In these times, The Order has met its second most notable enemy: Guild Core who emerged in 816 A.S. and continues to be gravest most hostile - human - threat to species survival.

Slowly loosing ground to the Core and resurfacing Nomad threat, The Order's was unable to form unified long-term leadership to face the challenge. It was so until young Wedjat officer by name Michal Golanski rose to power and assumed rank of Grand Admiral. Even then, it was too late to change outcome of second Toledo battle.
