No, I wouldn't agree. I like to think that people still view this server as a roleplay one, and thus every encounter by definition is in roleplay "unless proven otherwise".
If the average player on this server considers a line like "//Hey I just want to RP" necessary to actually do something other than shoot eachother, we might as well remove "RP" from the server name.
Twenty. Cruise. Disruptors. I'm sure your friend understood that they were CDs, and not guns, after seeing his engines fail twenty times, and seeing that "Cruise Engines Disabled" timer in red in the lower part of his screen all the time.
Lets say he did realize, what does that mean? That he didn't realize he's not being attacked? You know how many new folks I've met that thought I am attacking them when they were fired on by a single CD?
This rant is about how should you treat a new guy on the server, one that has been on it for 10-20 minutes maximum and the crappy attitude that he got from existing players that drove him away from it. Then you wonder why the server is dying? Seriously?
Anyway, I am done here, not gonna bother if you don't understand what's wrong to see a new guy and blast him away instead of trying to help him with the ropes. Not even worthy a 1/10 of my time.
