It was a cold day outside the recruitment office. Raining as always, that didn't help her confidence at all. Zoe had been recommended by the captain of the HMS Conqueror to join the Primary fleet, though she had no self confidence of her abilities.
She had been known for tactics during combat situations which lead the Conqueror to the nickname of "Only our spirit cannot be Conquered". Brandon Johnson, captain of the ship decided she deserved more from her career, and put her name forward to the Recruitment office.
As she sits in the waiting room, her name is called and follows an officer inside a room, she sits down as the door closes behind her.
A stern looking officer sitting behind a desk looks up from a file which she presumed was hers
"Zoe Avant, Correct?" She seems taken by surprise but quickly answers
"Yes, sir." The Officer closes the folder quietly, folding his arms
"Well, Miss Avant. I have been reading your record and it seems you have made quite a name for yourself aboard the HMS Conqueror." She nods slowly"I was recommended by the Captain of the ship to become part of Primary fleet for that reason. As the Executive Officer, Ive drawn up the battle plans for the ship, and taken command when the Captain was unable to do so." The Officer nods once"Your record is very good. It seems that you indeed planned a defensive operation during a Gallic attack. It was successful and that catches my eye". She nods once in respect and the officer continues"You shall be contacted once we have made a decision Miss Avant. Thank you for your time" She stands, nods once again in respect and walks out.She wonders to herself why she is doing this as she was filling out a form at the front desk. However in her heart she knew it was the right thing to do.
