Chapter II
Date: 10-17-820 A.S. …

For a week, Melissa spent her days on the Sabadell. She had a few sentimental days, reflecting over her turbulent personal life. She’d been watching the team produce the code and shell for her project for days now; she’d taken a liking to one of the programmers. “I guess, I’m in love”- she said to herself
-“Senorita Sanchez, programmer Antuan Cobax would like to enter your quarters.” –Sanchez’ secretary said through the intercom

-“Let him through”– A tuned out Sanchez said
Antuan entered to Melissa’s office, wearing a black tuxedo and carrying a bouquet of orange flowers

-“Buenos Tardes senorita!”

-“Senor Cobax?” – asked Melissa, puzzled by his presence

-“Senorita Sanchez, I have a gift for you” nervous, he placed the bouquet on her desk, pondering for a moment “…Would you like to meet me at the bar tonight?”
While evidently shocked, Melissa agreed
-“Sure...we could…I just have to take care of a few things first and I’ll call you”
As Cobax took his leave, the comm unit flashed, indicating urgency, giving way to the voice of Melissa’s secretary.
-“Senorita, the engineering team would like to contact you, they have news regarding your project, I’ll patch them through”
The secretary’s voice faded as a gruff, masculine voice sounded over the comm unit.

-“Senorita, we have completed the first set of schematics for the drone ”
It was the chief engineer, an old, humble man with years of experience

- “Excellent, how many drafts have you completed?”

-“So far we have only two versions...regrettably there are complications”

-“What kind of complications?”

-“The powercore is not entirely compatible with our technology and as of now we lack a proper solution”

-“Alright then…show me”.

-“Yes ma’am, uploading now.”

Melissa was not an expert when it came to such advanced technology, she panned over the incomprehensible schematics, not making sense of anything.

-“I do not understand, the first is a generic AI drone, the second appears to be a modification, where’s the problem?”

-“As you have requested, we are attempting to create a mechanism that allows us to remote control the drone from the Sabadell, however these drones are...difficult to work with; their design is a far cry from ours and as these AI shells have been made to operate independently, installing the mechanism I mentioned is proving to be a challenge. It can be done but it will take time."

-“Very well, I’ll review your progress in a few days, in the meantime continue to work diligently”

-“Understood Senora, we’ll continue searching for a proper solution and present our findings as soon as we can.”
The comm beacon darkened, and a satisfied Melissa rested back into her chair.
