Remaining self-contained for over seven hundred years, staying afloat has not been easy for the Fillii. Their continued insistence on using gold and silver as currency has led to a stagnant economy that has not moved forward for quite some time, especially with their large military that spends its days twiddling its thumbs. But as the Frumentarii have found out upon arriving to Sirius, many are gullible enough to believe that the denarii and aurei used back at home are genuine artifacts. This alone has allowed them to purchase enough Sirian equipment to properly modernize themselves with.

One thing that has changed for the Imperium is the newly-established Classis Commercialis, a merchant navy for spaceborne operation. Commissioned by Aquila near the beginning of his reign, this organization will eventually facilitate trade between the civilized world and Sirius, not only bringing in new goods and exporting old ones, but also spreading good Fillii culture and diplomacy across the sector. At present, there are no good vessels within the fleet, but Caesar has promised that it will soon be stocked. It is led de facto by the Princeps Numerarius.
